Bill Van Loo live performance, DJ set, collaboration – Ann Arbor POP-IN, June 8, 2017

On Thursday, June 8, 2017, Bill Van Loo will be joining fellow electronic musicians Jason Engling and Joe Bauer to present new music at POP-IN, a free event hosted by the Ann Arbor Art Center.  Bill will be presenting some new dub-techno works in live performance, as well as DJing and performing electronic improvisations as part of a trio with Jason Engling and Joe Bauer.

POP-IN is curated by and in partnership with the Intermitten Technology & Creativity conference.

Injecting the Art Center with a spirit of pop-up culture and by collaborating with diverse artists, we aim to attract intrepid young adults looking to explore and be excited by a city. Community members who attend POP•IN will be immersed in unusual, accessible experiences, whether they planned to attend the event or wandered in off the street.

Bill Van Loo live performance & DJ set – 313.fm on May 10, 2017

On Wednesday, May 10, Bill Van Loo will be giving a sneak peek of his new electronic music productions during a live performance! Tune in to 313.fm,  Detroit’s online electronic music station, to hear the new music, as well as Bill’s DJ set of deep cuts and new favorites.

31/52: Maker Faire Detroit – Ignite Presentation

On Saturday, July 31, I will be speaking at the Maker Faire Detroit, giving a 5-minute Ignite presentation about my 52 things project. This week’s project, in a meta turn, was preparing my presentation for the event.

Ignite is a chance for people to get up and speak about their passion for 5 minutes. Each talk is timed, with an automatically-advancing slideshow that accompanies it. Each slide is displayed for 15 seconds, for a total of 20 slides. You can read more about the Ignite event if you’re interested.

Friday, March 14, 2008: Bill Van Loo & J. Schnable at sync08

On Friday, March 14, Bill Van Loo & J. Schnable will be playing a new music & video set entitled “memory, intention & evidence” at the Sync08 Festival in Ann Arbor, MI. The show starts at 7PM and is FREE! The show will feature new music from the duo and a brand-new visual set to accompany it, all on the gorgeous triple-screen setup in the Duderstadt Center’s Video Studio space.

On Friday, March 9, Bill Van Loo & J. Schnable will be playing live music as a duo at the Sync07 Festival in Ann Arbor, MI. The show starts at 7PM and is FREE! Our good friend Bubblegone will also be performing that night, along with My Dear Disco: Dancethink Music.

Bill Van Loo & J. Schnable will be performing tracks from the just-released raindays as well as testing out some brand new material. We will have copies of raindays available for sale, as well as other chromedecay releases.
